Stu Sontier aka acquisitive-eye is an experimental photographer who works with digital devices to question the role of images in a digital society. Deconstructing digital image production with failing inkjet printers and re-using waste inks resulted in the creation of works for an exhibition at the Refinery Artspace, Nelson in 2021. Since investigating digital outlets and nfts through the experimental hicetnunc platform, he has studied online networked-image processing tools that use satellite and aerial images to map the earth. He predominantly presents work in online spaces, digital screens and Tezos-based nfts to reduce his ecological footprint.
